Afro Nation Regrettably Cancels Highly Anticipated December Event in Nigeria

Published:

Afro Nation, the world’s premier Afrobeats festival, has announced the cancellation of its much-anticipated event scheduled for December 2023 in Nigeria.

In a statement, the organizers expressed their deep regret, citing the inability to deliver a show of the high-quality befitting Nigeria’s vibrant music scene.

The statement explained, “Unfortunately, the Afro Nation Nigeria festival in Lagos will not be taking place. As event organizers, we hold ourselves to extremely high standards, and it has become clear to us that it is currently not possible to deliver a show that is of the quality that Nigeria deserves in December 2023.”

Despite the disappointment, Afro Nation affirmed its commitment to the Afrobeats community, acknowledging the significance of Nigeria in the global music landscape.

The festival has played a pivotal role in connecting artists with fans, creating positive cultural impacts worldwide, and even launching the Afrobeats chart in the US and the UK.

While Afro Nation has successfully hosted events in various locations, including Portugal, Ghana, Puerto Rico, Miami, and Detroit, the cancellation of the Nigeria event is a heartfelt decision. The organizers expressed their deep connection to Nigeria and assured fans that they are dedicated to creating an Afro Nation show in Lagos that everyone can be proud of in the future.

To address the disappointment, Afro Nation announced a full refund for all ticket holders, including booking fees. Ticket buyers will receive detailed information via email outlining the refund process, expressing gratitude to fans for their unwavering support.

Though the December event in Nigeria will not proceed as planned, Afro Nation remains committed to celebrating the rich tapestry of Afrobeats in Lagos, ensuring a memorable experience for fans when the circumstances allow for a show that meets the high standards and expectations set by the festival.
