Airtel Nigeria brings ‘The Price is Right’ to all Nigerians, expanding reach beyond subscribers

Airtel Nigeria has revealed its sponsorship of the iconic game show, ‘The Price is Right,’ bringing the globally celebrated program to a wider Nigerian audience.

The announcement, made by Airtel’s Chief Commercial Officer, Femi Oshinlaja, during an interview on TVC’s ‘Your View,’ highlights the company’s commitment to offering transformative and rewarding experiences to Nigerians.

Oshinlaja emphasized that the decision to sponsor the show, in collaboration with Smartcash Payment Service Bank, a wholly owned subsidiary of Airtel, reflects the brand’s vision of transforming lives and giving back to the community. “Our partnership with ‘The Price is Right’ perfectly aligns with our mission to offer unique and rewarding opportunities to all Nigerians, not just our subscribers. This inclusive approach ensures that every Nigerian aged 18 and above has an equal chance to participate and benefit,” he said.

He further explained that SmartCash’s involvement in the show also aims to drive financial inclusion by offering affordable and rewarding banking services. “Just as contestants on the show have the chance to win cash and exciting prizes, SmartCash provides benefits such as cashback, data, and free airtime on financial transactions, enhancing the value we offer to our customers,” Oshinlaja added.

Olatunbosun Olaegbe, the executive producer of ‘The Price is Right,’ also expressed gratitude to Airtel and SmartCash for their support. He praised Airtel for recognizing the show as a valuable platform to give back to society, noting that the partnership offers a great opportunity for SmartCash merchants to showcase their products and services.

The show, which premiered on August 25th in Victoria Island, Lagos, will start airing on September 1st. To participate, Nigerians can register on ‘The Price is Right’ website or opt for home studio play through the mobile app. Airtel and SmartCash customers may also be randomly selected to join the TV show, with additional opportunities to win prizes through a soon-to-be-launched USSD option, allowing participation directly from their phones.
