Boniface receives Europa League Golden Boot award for last season

Super Eagles and Bayer Leverkusen striker Victor Boniface received his Golden Boot award after finishing joint top scorer for last season’s Europa League.
Boniface scored six goals for Belgian club Union SG who reached the quarter-finals before losing to his current side Leverkusen.
He shared the award with Manchester United and England forward Marcus Rashford.
Prior to Leverkusen’s Europa League fixture against Qarabag on Thursday, Boniface was presented with the award.
He went on to score and provide an assist as Leverkusen thrashed Qarabag 5-1 to record their third win in three games in the group.
It was his second goal in the Europa League and also his 10th in all competitions this season.
He will hope to continue his scoring form when Leverkusen host Freiburg on Sunday in the Bundesliga.
Leverkusen currently top the Bundesliga table on 22 points after eight games played.
