Kenya seeks FRSC’s support to enhance traffic management

Published:

The Kenyan authorities are seeking the technical support of the Federal Road Safety Corps, (FRSC) to reduce Road Traffic Crashes (RTCs) and enhance that country’s traffic management system.

The Kenya High Commissioner to Nigeria, Mr Isaac Parashina said this during his visit to the FRSC Corps Marshal, Malam Shehu Mohammed in Abuja.

Parashina commended the FRSC for its efficient deployment of technology in achieving its corporate mandate of eradicating road crashes and making the highways safe.

The High Commissioner said:.”Going by what I have seen in terms of technology, the Kenyan Road Traffic Management Authority will always be open to learning from the FRSC.

“We just need to cross our imaginary boundaries and learn from each other while establishing strong collaborations, including in the area of capacity building,”

Parashina emphasised that road safety guarantees not only safety of human lives, but also plays a cardinal role in guaranteeing the protection of properties from crash related damage and destructions.

Responding, the FRSC Corps Marshal appreciated him for the visit, stating that the Corps was also open to learning at all times as there were still things that the Corps could learn from Kenya

Mohammed explained that the Corps was presently witnessing a massive rebirth and repositioning on all fronts, most especially in the areas of training and human development as well as in operations.

The FRSC boss welcomed the proposition of the High Commissioner for a partnership and fruitful collaborations.

He assured that the Corps operated an open door policy, as such, would welcome all forms of partnership that aligns with it’s statutory mandate.
