Late Abdul Kolawole Imoyo laid to rest with tears in Lagos

The final rites for the late Abdul Kolawole Imoyo, former Head of Corporate Communication at Access Bank Holdings, were solemnly carried out on Thursday, January 18, 2024, as his remains were interred at a family-designated cemetery in Lagos Island. The emotional ceremony followed a service of songs held on Wednesday, January 17, 2024, at Harbour Point Event Center, Victoria Island, Lagos.

Abdul Kolawole Imoyo, a highly respected Corporate Media Manager and Journalist, passed away on Sunday, December 17, 2023, after a brief illness at First Cardiology, Ikoyi, Lagos. Imoyo, who joined Access Bank in 2014, played a crucial role as the Corporate Communications Manager before becoming the Head of Media Relations at Access Holding.

The late Imoyo’s contributions to the field of Corporate Communications were marked by excellence, leaving a lasting legacy. Beyond his professional achievements, he was known for his philanthropy, humanity, openness, and kindness to colleagues both within and beyond the media circle. Imoyo also served as the Publicity Secretary of the Association of Corporate and Marketing Communications Professionals in Banks in Nigeria (ACAMB).

Colleagues and associates paid tribute to Imoyo, describing him as one of the best media managers in the industry. Many praised his leadership style, transparency, and commitment to excellence. He was not only a celebrated corporate media manager but also a man of God and a gentleman.

In addition to his professional achievements, Imoyo was a beloved husband, father, brother, and uncle. Colleagues, friends, and family members gathered to bid farewell to a dedicated professional who demonstrated unwavering commitment to excellence throughout his career.

The funeral ceremony, marked by tears and heartfelt tributes, acknowledged the unexpected nature of Imoyo’s passing and expressed prayers for the eternal rest of his soul.
