MultiChoice is pleased to announce that it will be sponsoring 20 students for the Class of 2024 MultiChoice Talent Factory (MTF) West Africa Academy in Lagos as part of its effort to develop young and talented people for the film and television industries.

The group of both genders from Nigeria and Ghana emerged victorious from a demanding six-week selection procedure that included interviews and evaluation by renowned cinema and television professionals as well as local academy directors.

During the welcome session for the 2024 cohort, the CEO of West Africa at MultiChoice, John Ugbe, urged the new students to seize the opportunities presented to them. In his motivational address, Ugbe stated, “Start this journey with an open mind ready to unlearn old ways and learn the value that the structure of the MTF provides.

The MTF Academy presents you with priceless opportunities for access and resources with which you can grow and expand the horizons of your careers.”

The MTF West Africa Academy Director, Atinuke Ngozi Babatunde, emphasized the significant impact of MTF graduates on the local creative sector. She noted, “Every year, a new set of MTF graduates are released into the West African film and television industry, injecting fresh ideas, energy, and enthusiasm.”

Babatunde proudly highlighted the achievements of the previous year’s students, with some already in negotiations with Africa Magic to showcase their films on the channel. She expressed excitement about shaping Africa’s creative industries and eagerly anticipated collaborating with the new cohort.
