The Nigerian Government has condemned the fatal attack on a Nigerian medical student, Chibuikem Emmanuel Chukwueke in the Philippines
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs made this known in a statement via its official X handle on Thursday evening, October 26, 2023.
According to reports, the Nigerian medical student, Chibuikem Emmanuel Chukwueke was allegedly murdered by a group of Chinese Nationals who tortured him, tied his hands and mouth and subsequently beat him to death after an altercation with his boss in the Philippines.
The incident happened at Orlacson Street, 6014, Mandaue City. The Philippines and the Chinese Nationals were reportedly angry that the deceased lodged his girlfriend, a Philippine citizen in his official accommodation.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs therefore warned all Nigerians in the country to be vigilant while the Philippine government continues with investigations.
The Philippine National Police has filed murder cases against the suspected six Chinese persons who are reportedly on the run.
