OPay introduces N50 transfer fee for transactions above N10,000

OPay will begin charging a N50 transfer fee for electronic transactions exceeding N10,000 starting September 9, 2024, in compliance with tax regulations.

OPay, a leading digital banking platform, will start applying a N50 fee for electronic transfers of N10,000 or more from September 9, 2024.

This new fee applies to both personal and business accounts in compliance with Federal Inland Revenue Service regulations.

The digital platform communicated the change to customers, explaining that the charge is a one-time fee aimed at adhering to government policies.

The announcement comes as many are still struggling financially, sparking discussions about the impact of this additional cost on users.
