PalmPay launches Anti-Fraud awareness walk to promote digital safety

PalmPay marks International Anti-Fraud Week with a community walk in Lagos, raising awareness about fraud prevention and digital security.

 

 

PalmPay, a leading financial institution in Nigeria, is commemorating the upcoming International Anti-Fraud Awareness Week with a series of initiatives aimed at educating the public on fraud prevention and digital security.

The centrepiece of this campaign is a community walk themed “United Against Fraud: Building a Safer Future”.

Scheduled for November 22, 2024, the walk will take place in Lagos, beginning at PalmPay’s offices and concluding at Ikeja’s renowned Computer Village.

Participants, including stakeholders from various industries and the public, will disseminate tips on fraud prevention to foster a safer digital financial ecosystem.

PalmPay highlighted the growing menace of fraud within Nigeria’s rapidly expanding digital finance landscape.

Recent statistics reveal an alarming rise in fraud-related cases, underscoring the urgent need for proactive measures by businesses and consumers alike.

“As digital finance becomes more integral to everyday life, staying vigilant and informed about potential risks is essential,” noted Adenekan Oluwatosin, PalmPay’s Anti-Fraud Officer.

“This initiative reflects our commitment to equipping users with the knowledge and tools to safeguard themselves against fraud.”

 

A Week of Awareness and Education

The Anti-Fraud Awareness Week campaign will extend beyond the walk, focusing on key aspects of digital safety. PalmPay plans to lead financial literacy efforts, encouraging users to:
