SAHCO secures ground handling contract with Ethiopian airlines at MMIA, Lagos

Skyway Aviation Handling Company (SAHCO) PLC has clinched a significant contract to take over ground handling services for Ethiopian Airlines at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA) in Lagos, Nigeria.

The contract covers Ramp handling services, Cargo handling services & Warehousing services, and other aviation-related services. The partnership officially commenced on January 1st, 2024.

While SAHCO has been responsible for providing Cargo Handling and Warehousing services to Ethiopian Airlines in Lagos since 2016, along with full handling in Kano, the procurement of state-of-the-art equipment and the commitment to advanced technology, coupled with well-trained and customer-friendly staff, influenced Ethiopian Airlines’ decision to select SAHCO as their preferred handler at the Cargo Ramp in Lagos.

Ethiopian Airlines, Africa’s largest airline in terms of passengers carried, destinations served, fleet size, and revenue, is wholly owned by the Ethiopian government, with its hub in Addis Ababa. Having operated in Nigeria for over 30 years, Ethiopian Airlines is renowned for its extensive presence and influence in the aviation industry.
