Watermark CEO urges female professionals to lead with multidimensional strategies

Victoria Adewunmi, CEO of Watermark, has advocated for female professionals, especially those in experiential marketing, to leverage their unique perspectives in addressing challenges, emphasizing the increasing need for their contributions in today’s professional landscape.

Adewunmi delivered this message during a panel session at the inaugural Women In Experiential (WIE) event, organized by the Experiential Marketers Association of Nigeria (EXMAN) to commemorate International Women’s Day. The event, themed ‘Inspire Inclusion’, aimed to celebrate and empower women professionals. It was held recently in Ikeja, Lagos.

Addressing the audience, Adewunmi highlighted the pivotal role of women in shaping future-forward leadership. She emphasized the importance of embracing multi-layer perspectives and authentic approaches to problem-solving, asserting that these qualities are essential in driving innovation and progress.

The panel sessions covered various topics, including ‘XM Trends and Female Leadership: Shaping the Future of Experiential Marketing’ and ‘Balancing Act: Nurturing Career Growth and Personal Wellbeing’. Guest speakers offered insights on ‘Inspire Inclusion’ and ‘Fueling Creativity through Self Care’.

Adewunmi stressed the significance of self-development, urging women to take ownership of their growth and leverage technology for continuous learning. She emphasized the need for innovation in personal and professional development, emphasizing the role of technology in accelerating skill enhancement through online courses.

Angela Makinwa, Vice President of EXMAN, echoed Adewunmi’s sentiments, highlighting the dynamic nature of women’s lives and the importance of observing human behavior for innovative problem-solving. She encouraged women to embrace their unique qualities and apply them creatively in their work.

Dolapo Otegbayi, CEO of DLK Consulting, emphasized the importance of inspiring inclusion in the workplace. She underscored the need for mentorship, self-training, and collaboration to foster a supportive environment where all individuals are valued and celebrated for their achievements.

In her welcome address, Tolulope Medebem, President of EXMAN, reaffirmed the commitment to promoting inclusion and growth within the experiential marketing industry. She emphasized the importance of providing opportunities for women to thrive and contribute meaningfully to the profession.

The WIE event served as a platform for women professionals to exchange ideas, network, and inspire each other towards personal and collective advancement. Through discussions and insights shared, participants were empowered to embrace their unique perspectives and drive positive change in their respective fields.
