The World Out-of-Home Organisation (WOO) has revealed plans to convene its fourth Regional Forum in Cape Town, South Africa. Scheduled for March 11th to 13th, 2023, the event promises to be a significant gathering for stakeholders in the out-of-home advertising sector.

With expectations high following its inaugural Regional Forum in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, which saw around 200 delegates, WOO anticipates a larger turnout in Cape Town. The forum aims to provide delegates with a rich program spanning one and a half days, featuring presentations on the Expanding World of Out-of-Home from various perspectives including media owners, buyers, tech suppliers, and clients.

The first day will delve into driving sectoral growth in out-of-home advertising, featuring keynote sessions from esteemed industry figures like Lunga Ngcime Mooi, Director of Digital Marketing, Media, and Commerce at Unilever. Additionally, sessions on OOH Creativity will be led by Jay Young, Managing Director of Grand Visual, Talon’s creative agency. Distinguished speakers for the first day include Dawn Rowlands, CEO of dentsu Africa; Greg Benatar, Managing Director of Alliance Media; and Tim Bleakley, President of WOO, among others.

The day will culminate with Gideon Adey and a panel of experienced buyers and measurement practitioners discussing the challenges of developing OOH Audience Measurement across Africa.

The focus of the second day will shift to the Science of OOH, highlighting the growing impact of data, automation, and programmatic buying in the sector. Esteemed speakers for this day include Remi Du Preez from Polygon, Stacy Saggers from Kantar, and Donald Mokgale, Managing Director at Avatar Media Agency, among others.

WOO’s Chief Marketing Officer, Richard Saturley, expressed excitement about the event, stating, “The Africa Forum in Cape Town, South Africa is shaping up to be a fascinating insight into Out-of-Home on the African continent and the whole media landscape in that rapidly-developing and dynamic region.” Saturley added, “We have attracted an unmatched line-up of speakers representing many voices in the African business community. It is a landmark event for WOO and, we hope, for the media industry in Africa too.”
